How to wear tights, stay ups and stockings without the risk to ruin them, feel uncomfortable or too squeezed.

PLEASE REMEMBER TIGHTS ARE VERY DELICATE AND NEED TO BE TREATED WITH LOVE AND CARE.

First of all it’s necessary to take care of your hands, legs and feet. If you’d like to avoid damaging your tights it’s best to shape your nails, moisturise your legs’ skin and most importantly: remove all your rings and bracelets that could get stuck in the nylon and snag the tights.

Remember that the process will be easier if you’ll be seated.

Take the tights with both your hands checking the seam and the foot shape, making sure you are keeping the front side of the foot in your hands. This is very important as wearing tights back to front is very uncomfortable.

Using both your hands gather one leg of the tights on the top of the foot. Make sure you do this one leg at a time, gather all the first leg of the tights on the top of the foot exposing the internal part, this will make it easier to insert your foot without damaging the tights

 Once you’ve put your foot through widen the tights gently to facilitate the way for your foot without getting it stuck in the nylon. Now, paying attention to your nails, align the seem to your toes and arrange your heel in the designated area.

Make sure the leg of the tights is not turned as this is one of the most frequent causes of discomfort when wearing tights.

 

 

Start to unroll gently the fabric up until your thigh, making sure your leg is not turned. If during this process you notice some nylon amassment, roll the tights again up until that point trying to unroll it stretching it without ripping it.

Now you can restart the same process with the other leg.

Prepare gently the waistband and then prepare the top of the foot as you did the first time. Extend your foot making sure the waistband, the top of the foot and the heel are stretched and aligned.

Pool gently the leg of the tights up until your thigh making sure you are not creating any crease or turning the fabric.

 

At this point you can stand up

Take the fabric accumulated on your thighs and unroll it up until our waist positioning the waistband in the most comfortable way on your body.

If you follow this process carefully you’ll have perfect legs and a very comfortable feeling as a result.

You should feel comfortable and free in every movement. Now you only need to check if there is any darker spot where the fabric could be accumulated. If you find one, gently massage the area to distribute the tights evenly. If you have a “screw effect” on your legs you should take off the tights and repeat the process more carefully.

If you are wearing tights with a striped design make sure they are straight and even.
